Station Setup

Ground Station

Passes climbing at or above the flip elevation are flown with elevation continuing past 90° instead of a fast azimuth reversal near zenith -- see the flip indicator in Select Target and the Tracking card. 80° is a reasonable default; lower it if your rotator's azimuth slew is on the slow side.

Rotator

kb3gtn Positioner: found automatically over Bluetooth by its advertised name -- no port/baud to set.
G-5500: connects over a GS-232B-compatible rotor controller's serial port. Enable/E-STOP and Home in Rotator Control don't apply to this controller (always live once powered, no separate homing step) and are hidden when it's selected.

Radio

IC-9700: connects over the radio's built-in [USB] port (CI-V over USB-serial, no Icom driver needed on Linux). CI-V address only needs to change from the factory default (A2) if you have multiple CI-V devices sharing one bus.
TS-2000: connects over the radio's COM port (Kenwood CAT, plain ASCII commands) -- no CI-V-style address, Kenwood doesn't use bus addressing the same way.

TLE Database

no cache loaded

Pulls CelesTrak's full active-satellite catalog, not just the amateur group -- needed so any NORAD ID you add below resolves, regardless of how CelesTrak classifies it. Which satellites actually show up in Select Target is controlled by the curated + user radio databases below, not by this refresh.

Curated Satellites

SatStation's bundled database, shipped in the app -- read-only here (see the project README for how to regenerate it). Add an entry below under "Your Satellites" to override any of these.

NORAD ID Name RX (MHz) RX Mode TX (MHz) TX Mode Tone (Hz) Invert Notes

Your Satellites

Satellites/modes you've added or corrected yourself. A user entry for a NORAD ID fully replaces the bundled curated one's modes (not merged mode-by-mode) -- if the bundled data is wrong or incomplete for something, add your own entry here with all the modes it should have, instead of waiting for an upstream fix.
